Plastic Electrical Outlet Boxes
Room smells like burning plastic after thunderstorms? Electrical problem?
After every thunderstorm my bedroom smells like burning plastic even though nothing is turned on that is plugged in and the light is not on. It’s the only room in the house that smells this way. There are three outlets – one has a TV plugged in and the other has a small lamp plugged in, the third outlet is empty. The electrical box is also in that room. And I have a ceiling light. What could be the problem? My landlord says it’s a power surge but I don’t know if he knows what he is talking about. Is there something serious that could be wrong? Thanks to anyone with any real knowledge on this topic……
