Electrical Room Door Swing

electrical room door swing
Is it against any code to have an interior door swing in front of the circuit breaker panel?

In my house, the circuit breaker panel is located in the room that would be the garage. It’s near the corner and I would like to install an interior door that would potentially swing in front of the panel when the door is open. Does anyone know if that would violate building/electrical/fire codes? Thanks!

The national code requires that three feet of working space is available to any panel or panel board in most applications.
I suggest you contact your local city/county for any requirements they may have, they do supersede the national code as far as what they say and how to enforce them.
I think you are ok as long as you have working space in front of the panel but you may want to try to swing the door the other way if you can.
I have seen worse then you want in many buildings and residential applications.
