Electrical Wiring Colors Red

How do you hook up a two-line phone jack? The wires (MANY) are there; just need to know HOW to attach.?
The “box” in the wall has two large gray wires, I assume for two lines; with smaller colored wires coming out of them. I DO have two lines in service now, but that box has never been used. Bought a “6-conductor” modular jack (2 “ports” … figured that’d be easier for TWO lines). In the wall, there are TWO EACH red, green, black and yellow wires, each same-color pair topped off by electrical tape. THEN there is a white wire and blue wire, kinda wrapped around the other wires. I’m clueless. If someone could just tell me HOW I connect these to the new jack to get my two lines in that room, I’d be ETERNALLY grateful. The new dual jack ALSO has green, blue, black, yellow, red and white wires already attached to each of the two “ports.” (I was TOLD “it’s easy.” Maybe for someone with a BRAIN, it is … Somebody, HELP me!!!!!!
)
Thanks!!!!! Do I attach the wires to the corresponding colored wires on the back of the plastic cover plate? To the screws? YOU ROCK!
Separate each set of colored wires coming out of the wall. You want two correct sets of red, green, black and Yellow wires. There is electricity in the wires, though not a large amount, so take some precautions, where shoes with rubber soles, and use a screw driver with a rubber coated handle if available…I’ve been jolted a few times doing this. Ignore the blue and white, does not apply. Push them a side and tape them off if needed. Start with one side and connect by color, and connect the black last! That is the ground wire and if you hook it before the red, you may get a little jolt of electricity. Test the line. Make sure no wires are sticking out touching any other terminals or wires. Repeat for the next set of wires. If for some reason, it does not work, you can try also connecting the white and the blue to the same color terminals on the box.
