How to Build Solar Panels – Step by Step Tutorial

A solar panel produces clean power. It converts solar energy into electricity. You could buy a professionally made solar cell but they are normally very expensive. Why not save yourself a lot of money and make one yourself with a handful of materials from your local hardware store?

While you might imagine being able to build solar panels is just a dream, the truth is it’s a lot easier than you think. • Sheet of copper flashing
• Two metal clips
• A heat source
• A bottle
• Salt
• Water
• Sand paper
• Metal shears

You’ll need to connect the cells together in a parallel.  The wires will run through holes behind each cell. The backboard is  then reinforced with another piece of wood for stability. Then you will have to construct a small frame around the outside of the back board. This frame needs to be higher than the solar cells so there’s a space between the cells and the Plexiglas. Finally, you want to seal the edges with silicon sealant.
