Rewinder Save
Can anyone recommend a good mini dv tape rewinder.?
I am trying to save wear and tear on my dv camcorder. So I am looking for a mini dv tape rewinder. Any suggestions?
That is an excellent question, but unfortunately, no one has the answer. It is a great idea not to rewind on your camcorder to save on the wear and tear, and the minDV rewinders are cheap solutions, but all the rewinders I have seen are cheaply made, even the higher priced ones, and horribly unreliable; they eat your tapes after only several uses.
The best solution, in my opinion is to buy an inexpensive minDV camcorder for rewinding. I found one for a little more than $50- just make sure they work and that they are miniDV!! The on-camera rewinding mechanism is more reliable and actually rewinds faster! It also allows you to view where exactly to rewind by using the camera LCD screen. I encourage you to consider buying a cheap miniDV camcorder, but if you are still convinced you want a designated rewinder, www.amazon.com sells some cheap ones!!
