can i record security surveillance on my dvr from direct network?
i have direct tv and a DVR. Can i record footage from my security cameras onto it?
more info….my camera is shown on my tv where i can watch it. so therefore, wouldn’t i be able to record it from my tv??
In general, no, it is not going to work.
Actually, I can think of a way to get the CCTV input to the back of the receiver such that it could be recorded but think about how a directive DVR records versus how a CCTV camera records. Directv only records when there is a program which you have selected on the guide. You want a CCTV recorder to record all the time.
You might be able to run the CCTV camera outputs through and RF modulator and then duplex that onto the lower RF bands as if it were an OTA broadcast station. However, it isn’t going to work very well and to top that off, it appears you have multiple cameras….

No.
Your TV has no video outputs on it and you are apparently not understanding at all even the basics as to how your DVR works. For instance, your DVR "does not record from your TV".
The Directv signal goes to the DVR and is recorded there. Your DVR then has an output that goes to your TV.
But your DVR does not record from your TV as you say…
