transferring to UT arlington Electrical Engineering?

I am planning on transferring to ut arlington next fall. i want to major in electrical engineering there.

can anyone tell me if the area uta is in is ghetto. i will either live on campus housing or a 1 bedrm apartment on campus.

i like how it is close to dallas so i can work part time with my CADD degree which i already have there or in the surrounding dallas area.

but i will also apply to ut austin since i already lived there. as long as i have a 3.7 i should be ok, but ut arlington has free tuition for students with income less than $65,000.

a lil help on the area of arlington and the school in general compared to ut austin by price please.

thanks.

You will like Arlington.
There are some newer housing facilities that are nice. The ‘ghetto’ areas are to the east and SE of campus. The city is working on upgrading that area.

UTA has many acres within the city that is patrolled by their own police [UTA Police].

The only thing I can think of that is ‘bad’, Arlington does not have any public transportation. No busses, no trains, no nothing. Stupid, I know.
But there is a rail link to the north in Euless, that connects Dallas & Fort Worth.
